Take Exam

The following test or exams must be passed in order to obtain this Cisco certification:

Option 1: CCNA Composite

CCNA 200-125 (Effective August 21, 2016). The previous version, 200-120, was in use until August 20, 2016.
The CCNA Composite Exam The Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching certification is linked to the 200-125 CCNA composite test. The Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices: Accelerated (CCNAX) course is a good way for candidates to be ready for this test. The knowledge and abilities needed to set up, manage, and troubleshoot a small to medium-sized corporate branch network are assessed by this exam. All of the subjects covered in the ICND 1 and ICND 2 Exams are included in the topics.

Option 2: 100-105 and 200-105

100-105
The Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician credential is earned by passing the 100-101 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1  exam, which is also a practical prerequisite for earning the CCNA Routing and Switching certification. The Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1  course is a good way for candidates to be ready for this test. The knowledge and abilities needed to establish, run, and troubleshoot a small branch office network are assessed in this exam. IP Data Network Operation; LAN Switching Technologies; IP Addressing (IPv4 & IPv6); IP Routing Technologies; IP Services (DHCP, NAT, ACLs); Network Device Security; and Basic Troubleshooting are among the topics covered in the test.

200-105
A CCNA Routing and Switching certification is earned by passing the 200-101 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2  exam. By enrolling in the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 course, candidates may become ready for this test. This test assesses the knowledge and abilities needed to set up, run, and troubleshoot a small to medium-sized corporate branch network. Topics include LAN switching technologies, IP routing technologies, IP services (including FHRP, Syslog, and SNMP versions 2 and 3), troubleshooting, and WAN technologies are covered in the test.

Recertification

Certifications in CCNA Routing and Switching are valid for three years. Before the certification expiration date, you must pass ONE of the following in order to recertify:

  • Pass any current test at the associate level, excluding the 100-105 exam, or
  • Pass any current professional-level exam that is 642-XXX or 300-XXX, or pass any current associate-level exam that is not the 100-105 test.
  • Pass any of the 642-XXX Cisco Specialist exams now offered (with the exception of the Cisco Leading Virtual Classroom Instruction, Cisco TelePresence Installations (ITI), Sales Specialist, and MeetingPlace Specialist exams, as well as any of the 650 online tests), or
  • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
  • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications
  • If you have one year left on your CCNA Routing and Switching certification and you earn a CCIE certification (which has a two-year certification life), then both your CCIE certification and your CCNA Routing and Switching certification will expire two years from the date you achieved the CCIE certification. This is because when you use a higher level of certification to extend other certifications, the expiration date of those certifications will extend to the higher certification’s expiration date.
